The ECHA updates harmful chemical substances list to be banned in the 2014-16 period

The ECHA (European Chemical Agency) released recently the last update to the Community Rolling Action Plan (CoRAP), which covers the period from 2014-16. The CoRAP, which is part of the REACH evaluation process of hazardous chemicals, contains 125 substances that are proposed for review by 22 Member States. Last update was published on 20 March 2013: the new draft contains 56 newly selected substances (in March the new ones were 69). ECHA says that these substances have been included because they may be persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) or endocrine disruptors. The Agency plans publishing the final version in March 2014.
