Electrical appliances and wiring

Scientists from all over the world have been studying the effects of low-frequency electromagnetic fields for decades. Given the low energy levels they have, the effects of these fields have not been a priority except in the case of electric shocks. However, there has been a confirmed link between low frequencies and cardiovascular disorders, various forms of cancer, infant leukaemia etc. Although the biological mechanisms that take place are still not clear, the evidence points to the following processes:

  • Induction of currents which alter the voltage running through cell membranes hereby reducing the immune system’s effectiveness

  • Inhalation of charged particles which damage the respiratory system

  • Prevention of melatonin secretion in the pineal gland (low levels of melatonin are often found in women with breast cancer)

  • Change in cardiac rhythm leading to arrhythmia and other cardiovascular diseases
